Mr. Charles Earl Daughtry, 81, died Friday, May 29, 2009.  Funeral service 3:00 p.m.on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Hopewell United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Bailey officiating.  Interment, Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetary.  Surviving:  wife, Louise H. Daughtry; daughters and son-in-law Linda Daughtry of Newton Grove; Cindy and Chris Challender of Greenville; son, Ken Daughtry of Ashboro; grandchildren, Wendy Rackley, Nicki Byrd, Alison Hargett, Beth Daughtry, Morganne Daughtry, Laura Challender, Casey Challender; brothers, Gary Mac Daughtry of Newton Grove, Billy Ray Daughtry Sr. of Clinton; seven great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m .Saturday at the funeral home.  Mr. Daughtry was the owner and operator of Sir Charles Vineyards which was one of the original growers of Duplin Winery.  He was also a former president of the N.
