Mr. Robert "Bob" Edward Dalton, 73, of
Lewisville died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Wake Forest University
Baptist Medical Center. He was born Jan. 24, 1935, in Forsyth
County to Willie Davis Dalton and Sarah Dare Doub Dalton. Mr.
Dalton attended Lewisville High School and was of the Methodist
faith. He was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 15 years.
He served on the Winston-Salem Planning Board for many years.
Mr. Dalton was also a building contractor for many years and
co-founder of Nutragon LLC.
He was from a family of 10. He was preceded in death by his
parents; and three brothers, the Rev. George Dalton, Worth Dalton
and Don Dalton. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Stoltz Dalton;
two sons, Robert Dalton (Sheryl) of Greenville, S.C., and Jeff
Dalton (Laurie) of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Caroline,
Connor, Jacob and Patrick; two brothers, Frank Dalton and Monroe
Dalton of Lewisville; four sisters, Virginia Townsend (Lewis) of
Charlotte, Ida McHargue of Winston-Salem and Eleanor Thompson and
Rosie Burton (Leroy) of Lewisville; and a half sister, Carol
Deaton (Ed) of Greensboro.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8,
at Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Edwin G.
Needham officiating. Memorial gifts may be made to a charity of
the donor' s choice. (Arrangements are by Vogler and Sons Clemmons
Chapel.)
